Scholarships
The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre doesn't want money problems to be the barrier to you starting or completing your studies. Lots of students struggle financially at some point during their course, and the hard times can really impact on the amount of time you can devote to your studies. There are a huge variety of scholarships for different circumstances such as:
- personal and financial hardship;
- what you are studying; and
- where you are living.
A good starting point when investigating scholarships is to contact the Kulbardi student support co-ordinator who can give advice on which scholarships are available to you, and can provide application forms and general information.
Scholarships presently available to Indigenous students include:
Commonwealth scholarship
All Indigenous students who are enrolled or planning to enrol in an undergraduate course, KATEC or OnTrack or a Grad Dip Ed are encouraged to apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship:
- Indigenous Access Scholarship $4,253 (once in a life-time payment);
- Commonwealth Educations Cost Scholarship (CECS) $1,127 per semester
- Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS) $2,245 per semester*. (*based on 2010 values. Commonwealth Scholarships are indexed annually.)
Murdoch senate scholarship
Murdoch offers a number of $3,000 scholarships each year to students who are in personal or financial hardship.
Mick Young scholarship
If you complete K-Track or OnTrack and go on to undergraduate study you will be eligible to apply for one of eight $1,000 scholarships in Semester One each year.
